because the Ka1 >> Ka2 we base our calculation on the hydrogen ions from that source

for a weak acid [H+] = SQRT(Concn * Ka) = SQRT( 0.02 M * 7.9 × 10 –5)

= 0.0013 M

pH = 2.9 ..
