If Manchester doesn't get the help it needs to get by during a lockdown how does the government expect the people to comply ?

Surely they're encouraging them to ignore it

You could also say you've got a Labour mayor playing party politics while Rome burns or rather people are dying and don't forget all this money that is being paid out will need to be paid back through taxes, so be careful what you wish for.

Andy Burnham and the other Greater Manchester leaders had justified the amount of government money their people and businesses needed to avoid further hardship with detailed costings. How the people will react if the hardship becomes a reality remains to be seen. Civil unrest seems possible.

There is a magic money tree, Thing Three, but it’s finite, and bribes to a Loyalist Paramilitary Party, Brexit, HS2 and Trident are all considered more important than stopping people in Manchester dying or starving.

The additional money Burnham was asking for was one day’s saving from leaving EU, according to the lies on the red bus.

If I lived in Manchester I wouldn't comply. This is outright dictatorship to control the population.

Trying to get more money than Liverpool and Lancashire backfired, they should have agreed the £60 million offered.
