Dependent and stimulus check?

If your claimed on someone's taxes 2018. Can u file 2020 nonfilers taxes to recieve the stimulus check.

    If you can legally be claimed as a dependent, you are not legally entitled to the Economic Impact payment.

    Dependents are not eligible for a check.  The only way a non filer is eligible is if they are on Social Security (and also not a dependent).

    As long as you weren't a dependent on someone's 2020 tax return, you are eligible for the economic impact tax credit (aka "stimulus check").

    You wouldn't automatically get a check if you were a dependent in prior year, but you can take the tax credit when you file your 2020 tax return.   Even if your income is zero and your tax is zero, the tax credit is refundable to you.   But you don't get the refund unless you file a tax return.

    If you are eligible when you file your 2020 taxes, yes.
