Is there a such thing as a public parking garage?

I don't mean at the airport I'm in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. And I need a place to park my car so that I can catch an Uber to Metro airport. I don't know the way to the airport on my own and would end up getting lost.

You'll save money if you take a bus to the airport instead or Uber.

Anyway, to answer your question Grosse Point does have a parking garage (on Kercheval Avenue between Notre Dame Ave. and St. Clair Avenue), but it's for employees of businesses in the area, not for residents storing cars when out of town.

You can get directions on your phone.  There are many map apps.

Another alternative if the airport is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport is to take the bus and leave your car at home.
