What is it called when you find everything EXCEPT the one thing your looking for?

I'm sure theres a name or saying for that. i just dont know what it is.

like your looking for a screwdriver but all you can find are screws or something!

    I believe its called the "Null Hypothesis". 

    No matter what you are looking for you always find it in the last place you look.
