Should parents of fat children be punished by the law for neglect?

    Much obesity is due to poverty and the relative cheapness of foods that are also fattening.

    Usually the parents are fat themselves so can't see the problem. They need educating sadly in some cases that is near impossible.

  • no because it should be a free society where people can live how they want and make their own choices, not have the gov think for them.

    It is definitely the fault of the parents, because they are the ones who feed the children incorrectly and excessively. I am not sure how it could be changed though. This was never a problem before McDonalds and other companies came in from America with sugary salty foods. 

    Maybe a weight tax on families would help.

    No because it's not nesscarly the parents fault.

    And it is most certainly not neglect.
