    Hmmmmm.  I'd say the music changes during the 90's or the Loudness War.  Those two go hand in hand, so maybe both!

    Radio/Mainstream is what died and it was the soul sucking Corporations that killed it. You just can't kill Rock n Roll!

    Disco TRIED to, in the 70's.........but then Rock returned and kicked Disco's butt.

    Bands like Limp Bizkit, Blink-182, Matchbox Twenty and Sugar Ray tried to destroy the genre dead in the Late-90's, but bands like Creed, 3 Doors Down and Nickelback kept it alive in the Early-2000's.
