How to run a .sys file in compatibility mode in Windows 7?

I am trying to install an older piece of software that installs through a .sys file. There isnt a compatibility mode option when going into the files' properties. Why do I force this file to install? Even if I have to type in code.

Right click the file. Does it list Install as an option?

    Sys files are generally drivers.....

Last I checked, SYS files were not programs and don't "run" like an executable would.

Typically a SYS file would have an EXE, MSI, or INF file that would install it that should've come with the file.
