How do I stop cardboard from warping or bending?

I have a cardboard cutout which I bought but because I was playing with it, it lost it's rigidity and now it won't stand still. I've put staples and tried making strong again but its not working. Kind of stupid of me I know. Anyone know how I can make my cardboard cutout stand still again?

    Cardboard can't be repaired, PERIOD.

The anonymous answer claiming varnish will help has NEVER tried that approach.

Back it onto thin plywood or mdf and cut out around it.

Even varnishing it would add some strength.

you'll have to reinforce it on the back side ... thin wood product from the hardware should do it

    Elmer's Glue and popsicle sticks/toothpicks.

Don't let it get wet, either by liquid water or humidity.
