If mitochondrial DNA is still present in a blood sample, can this blood be tested for the gene for Marfan’s syndrome? Why or why not?

What does mtDNA determine if tested? Would it show the mutated gene?

The FBN1-gene is located on a chromosome 15, not in the mitochondria.
