You say permutations, which means that BDF is a different arrangement to BFD.
so, 6P3 => 6!/(6 - 3)!
i.e. 6!/3! = 6 x 5 x 4 => 120 permuatations
In general if r items are selected from n in total we have:
nPr => n!/(n - r)!
