Is Latin similar to greek?

    Latin involves more romance....Greek is more nitty-gritty..

    To a very limited degree.

    Look at this image of language "families" and how they are related.

    You'll see Greek above Germanic and to the right of the cat. (No, I don't know why there's a cat.)

    You'll see Latin above Italic, above and to the right of the cat.

    SO: they are distantly related, sort of like second or even third cousins.

    There are LOTS of languages that are VERY similar to Latin. Namely: the Romance Languages (all of those that are from the "Italic Romance" branch). These are basically children of Latin. Lots of similar vocabulary. Lots of similar grammatical features.

    Hardly. Latin is a romantic language. Greek is a technical language.
