Can a person file a criminal case 1 year after a Temporary Restraining order?

Is there a statue of limitations? A guy filed a restraining order on me for harassment (texts and calls some of them were false and not me) I had a TRO and did not violate it the judge did not extend it and closed the case. I have not had any contact with him in 1 year. Can he charge me with a crime if I have not contacted him at all?

depends on the my state for simple harassment, the statute is 1 year max...and the victim must file the court papers for the charges.  after that the prosecutor can choose to pursue the case or not.

No, he can't charge you.  He can file a Police Report.  And, yes, he can file a criminal case within the statute of limitation.  The restraining order doesn't extend that time to file.

He can never charge you with a crime, only the police can do that.
