(a) How much gravitational potential energy (relative to the ground on which it is built) is stored in an Egyptian pyramid, given its mass is about 3 ✕ 109 kg and its center of mass is 15.0 m above the surrounding ground?

(b) What is the ratio of this energy to the daily food intake of a person (1.2 ✕ 107 J)?

    GPE = m*g*h = 3e9kg * 10m/s² * 15.0m = 4.5e11 J

    using a nice round number for g.

    That about 3.7e4 (37,000) times the daily food intake.
