An olden day painter with an IQ of 220. What would he be able to answer if it was today?

Going along with Da Vinci, then Da Vinci would have found a solution for a non-drying, or crackle free paint for his art, and not have depended so desperately on an eggwhite/ yolk tempera.
The cracks in all his paintings are a major source of worry, plus the damage done by modern-day pollution.
