How can a paramedic tell?
If someone dies from a seizure, how can a paramedic tell if was from a seizure or an overdose? They can’t can they?

A paramedic might be able to tell if an overdose was the cause of the seizure. Certainly the coroner would be able to tell.

The seizure can be the cause of death in both situations (although OD can cause death in many ways, not solely through causing seizures), so if a seizure occurs, the medical tech or treating doctor cannot say with certainty WHY there was a seizure but they can say that the seizure played an important role in the death of the person.
If you come across a dead person, though, you cannot tell very easily just by looking what was the actual cause of death. The body has to be examined in detail, usually, to figure that out (unless there is a huge hole in the chest or the head is shattered like an egg, and even then, it might be that the hole or the smashing happened after death).

Not their job!
A proper licensed Medical Doctor, and in the end an Autopsy make the decisions.

The medical examiner will make that determination.
