is 5'7 and 135 pounds big for a female?

    Not even close, 135 is a perfect weight.

    depends on BF%. Female's look best when they look like bikini fitness models. but its certainly not an unhealthy weight. in fact, no matter what exactly your composition levels are, i am sure its better than the majority of american women.

    The recommended weight range for a 5'7" female is 126 - 146 lbs, depending on body frame size, per the source calculator. Most people can simply look at themselves (or someone else) and tell if they are "big" (overweight or very muscular) or not.

    My wife is 5'7" and 125.  She was 135 and I over 200 when we corrected our metabolisms and subsequently lost all excess body fat. 

    You could simply be more muscular,  but you wouldn't be asking here if you didn't feel and see fat.

    Eat only whole foods and drink ONLY water, unsweetened teas and unflavored milk.   Whole milk (pasture or grass fed) CANNOT make you fat, but those Twizzlers and 95% sliced breads ARE.
