Immensely so, although California has mini earthquakes everyday.

The wildfires are a result of us not maintaining the forests.

In Sept 2018, a $1,000,000,000 (that's billion) forestry maintenance bill was passed.  It was so large because our old buddy Jerry, kept vetoing forestry maintenance bills.  The neglect is too big :-(

California has already had some decent sized quakes this summer in the 4.6 range.  One in OC and another in the San Fernando Valley.

My theory about the wildfires all over the western states is that the heat is coming up from underneath, from the giant bubbles of magma under both Yellowstone and Yosemite. Meanwhile, the Cascadia region is getting ready to do a Mt. Saint Helen on Seattle and Tacoma.
