Many people say that J.K. Rowling is a not a great writer. Where in the Harry Potter books is her writing especially bad?

Update:

I just don't see it because I think she's an excellent author with a great rapport

Those people who say that are idiots. The writing is superb.

JKR is certainly not a great writer by any objective standards, but her books are thoroughly enjoyable none the less.

"Not being a great writer" is not remotely synonymous with "especially bad" writing.

Oh, you think she's excellent, do you? Good for you, Mikey. That and €7 will get you a pint. Considering that no one has ever heard you mention another author besides Brooks, Ende, Lewis, Martin, Rowling, and Tolkien, nobody really gives a toss what you think. You're a grown man living in a fantasy land reading books aimed at people half his age. You claim to be a student of "literature", but you've yet to read a book that doesn't have a goddamn wizard or a sorceress in it. Why don't you skip your Dungeons & Dragons session this week and have your mum drive you to the library instead?
