    IF you ever forget the formula, simply look at the units

    8.3m/s has meters on top, that's good. Seconds are on the bottom, so you need to multiply by seconds on the top to cancel out seconds.

    8.3 m/s * 0.6 s = 4.98 m

    speed(s) = distance(m) / time(s)

    s = m/s

    algebraically rearrange

    m = ss'

     m = 8.3 m/s x 0.6s

    m = 4.98 m (metres)

    NB the units 's(seconds)' cancel down .

    Distance

    = Speed × Time

    = (8.3 m/s) × (0.6 s)

    = 4.98 m

    This is the Formula for Speed/Time/Distance

    Distance =   8.3 times .6

    Less than 8.3m, or .83 x 6
