Are tracers overdoing it?

The rule of exposure is if a person was within 6 feet of someone, 10 minutes or more but it looks like once a contract tracer can identify anyone that a COVID positive was in contact with they will ask that person to quarantine like for example if you were a student in the class or riding school bus they will ask you to quarantine for 2 weeks even if you had no contact with that individual within 6 feet.

    I don't think they are. I mean, why not be extra-vigilant in trying to save lives?

    You will need to do this until the virus is gone.
