Can nurse practitioners easily switch specialties?

I’m under the impression that PAs can easily switch specialties. I’m trying to decide between PA and NP. I ask because it makes a difference of weather I go to nursing school or do something like health science/biology undergrad for PA. I ask because I would like to work in different areas such as ER, ICU, cardiology, primary care, pulmonology, NICU, PICU.

PA's and NP's are pretty much interchangable.

I worked in Family Practice, Orthopedics (after 2 year residency training) ER, Urgent Care and GI over my practice from 1982-2020.

I see more jobs available to NP's than PA's currently. If you get your RN degree first, you can work your way through school for NP!
