Should he join the army reserves? ?

My son has a 9-5 job but I think he's going through s quarter life crisis, he wants to join the army reserves. I don't want to talk him into it or out of it but does it seem silly to you, I mean either join the army or don't, what are the pros and cons to joining the reserves?

Pro - he gets paid for his training.

Con - he could be activated and deployed into a conflict area.

There is no such thing as a quarter life crisis.

You need to mind your own business if he wants to join then he should join.

Most of the reservists I've known joined for the money.  It's not an onerous role, you're not a regular.
