Was Chris Jericho really in that much of a better position in his first year in the E than he was when he left WCW?

He left WCW as a midcarder who always got TV time. Throug his first year to year and a half in the Fed he was in that same spot. Only real difference is that the WWF main eventers didn't try to make an excuse to not work with him like in WCW (Goldberg).

No, he wasn't. He needed to learn and adapt. I think that first year was the most important in Jericho's career as he learned his old stuff wouldn't work and he needed to constantly be creative and get better to survive. That attitude has made him become one of the all time greats
