Is inter-religious marriage a taboo in USA?

Inter-racial and inter-cultural marriage is probably a taboo in USA. But what about inter-religious marriage?

America is very accepting of mentioned marriages, gay marriage is on the fence, taboo yet people still get married.

None of those things is a societal taboo. But for some religions it's not cool to marry "outside the faith". The general public though doesn't care.

Interracial and intercultural marriage are NOT a taboo in the USA.

Religious marriages?  I'm a practicing Roman Catholic married to an Orthodox Jew.  Inter religious marriages are NOT taboo.

Interracial and intercultural marriages aren't really "taboo" in the US these days, although there are still some wacky retrogressive groups who find both an unspeakable scandal.  The same holds true for interreligious marriages.

It's not taboo, but it is not advised. It adds a layer of complexity to the relationship that will add stress to the relationship. When people date, they sometimes like diverse and exciting people alien to their community and beliefs.

There is an old saying. People are attracted to opposites, then they get married, and attack. Or quite plainly, opposites attract and then they attack. This is what bringing anything too different into a relationship brings.

Nope. Religion or lack of, between parties in a marriage, isn't a big deal at all (except maybe to those 2 people or their immediate families, depending on what specific paths the 2 people follow).  There are no really taboo marriages in the US (that are legal). Probably the most controversial would be a very young woman (of legal age) with a much, much older man...or first cousins marrying (which is not legal in all states).

If two people have strong views and they differ then conflicts are insurmountable.  It isn't whether they have different cultures or religions.  It is whether or not they are open to other people's opinions and beliefs. There should be no intrinsic taboos.

That is slowly going away except in the bible belt.

minority Christianity(multiple denominations) in the us is the majority globally Catholicism is the number one religion on the planet....I suspect that people with different faiths are more tolerated than agnosticism or atheism.
