F4U "Corsair"...made famous by the 1970s television series "Baa Baa Black Sheep" (also known to later audiences as "Black Sheep Squadron")...loosely based on the real-life WW2 experiences of squadron leader Gregory "Pappy" Boyington.

Fun fact:  The Corsair's most distinctive feature, the "inverted gull wing" shape of its wings, was necessary to raise the plane's nose so that the propeller would not strike the ground during takeoff and landing.  The design featured the largest, most-powerful engine available at that time for a single-seat fighter which, in turn required a propeller that was larger than standard at that time.
