    tan(5pi/4) = tan(pi + pi/4) = tan(pi/4) = 1.;

    tan(pi/3) = sin(pi/3)/cos(pi/3) = (rt3/2)/(1/2) = rt3, where rt = "square root of".;

    Adding gives 1+rt3 as the answer.

    tan(5pi/4)+tan(pi/3)=

    tan(pi+pi/4)+tan(pi/3)=

    tan(pi/4)+tan(pi/3)=

    1+sqr(3)

    Hint:

    tan(α+β)=(tan (α)+tan (β))/(1−tan α tan β)

    Do your own homework. Can get help on how to figure it out, but don't ask for answer as you'll never learn.

    Remember that tan = sin / cos.

    Also use your unit circle:

    sin(5π/4) = (-√2)/2

    cos(5π/4) = (-√2)/2

    tan(5π/4) = 1

    sin(π/3) = (√3)/2

    cos(π/3) = 1/2

    tan(π/3) = √3

    Answer:

    1 + √3
