Chuck Steak in Crockpot?

Found a recipe that calls for a 3-4 pound chuck roast to be cooked on low for 8 hours. However my local grocery store only had chuck roast steaks today, I grabbed 4 pounds worth of it. Any tips on how to use the steaks in the recipe? Maybe cut back an hour or two? Or will it make a difference at all. Thanks in advance!

Maybe you could cut down on the cooking time?, it should break down and be tender + tasty, like slow braised steak. Add your usual extras like onions, carrots e.t.c.

Well, you can stack the steaks on top of each other and tie them together with butchers string.

But cooking in a crock pot, you are basically making a pot roast. So either way will do. Same amount of time.

Stack the steaks on top of one another - now you have a roast.

You're making it more complicated than it is.  :-)
