How did the USS Johnston DD-557 sink? ?

The deepest shipwreck in the World is a sunken American military ship, the USS Johnston, which was destroyed in a Naval battle with the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Battle off Samar on October 25, 1944. But how was the ship destroyed? This naval ship, operated by the US Navy, is located 20,400 feet down below the water surface of the Pacific Ocean.

She took the battle to an unexpected Japanese fleet.

Fired all of her torpedoes, damaging many Japanese ships.

She fought until her last engine gave out.

She was dead in the water.

Finally the Japanese ships circled her, firing round after round until she finally sank.

Over 100 survived, yet never to be heard from.
