Is there a more natural way to say this?
Today in the morning I went in the kitchen and make/did coffee.

spock has the idea: "this morning" is how we naturally say "today in the morning" (this means today's morning, not yesterday's morning, not tomorrow's, and not any other, but THIS one, the one nearest to now which means today's). You would use "made" coffee instead of did. make is the wrong tense to use. need to use made (happened in the past).
