No, it would just bring us into the 21st century and put us on par with the rest of the developed world.

No, there are many countries which have a universal health care system.  One which I know very well is Japan.  It does make sense, that all citizens pay into the health care system; that is when you are employed.  After retirement you have no worry, as your have health care coverage.  The cost is much less as all persons pay into it.

Of course not. That's just more scaremongering from the fright-wing weirdos.

US will never be a "socialist country"  liberals are not really shooting for socialism.  For example in a socialist country in Europe for example university may be free.  Everyone goes free,  This is not the libs plan for America only the proper race, sex and who ever they choose gets stuff free.  Its more like a socialist selective cast system.   Where members of different racial and sex casts get varying degrees of free stuff and everyone onle else has to work and pay for it.  Further only liberals are just enough to decide what cast you are in what level of free stuff you get or if you just have to work and pay and get nothing.

Why do European countries with socialist policies like universal healthcare system and some even having a universal education system have far better living standards than the US despite having lower incomes and much higher taxes than the US?

AND DID YOU KNOW THAT US HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST INCOME INEQUALITY AMONGST DEVELOPED COUNTRIES

No. That's just a lie peddled by rich people that enjoy the status quo. I'm from the UK, we have it and we're not a socialist country. It's just value for money for normal people. Americans already essentially pay a tax for healthcare the only difference is, who are you paying that tax to, insurance companies or elected representatives. The rich people don't want it cause an extra 10% tax means a lot more to them than it does someone earning 50k a year. But the rest of the world already charges more than the extra it would cost for free healthcare so the rich wouldn't leave and you therefore wouldn't just become a socialist country.

Make us bankrupt? Sure. Make us socialist? Not completely but it would definitely make us more socialist than we currently are. Socialism implies the government has full control over all property, business, and service.
