Is a one year old too big/old to be carried in a baby carrier?

It really depends on the type of carrier you have, but most of them can be used until around the age of two or three years old unless your baby is big for their age.
Check your carrier to see what the weight and age recommendations are for the exact type you have. If you don't have the paperwork for the carrier, you can probably find information by looking for it online.

As long as the style of carrier is appropriate for the size and weight of your child, carriers can be used well into toddlerhood. Some styles of carriers have weight limits as high as 40-45 lbs, which is about the size of a 5 year old.
