    > Is nazism the same as fascism

Pretty much, except that Nazism is the german flavour of fascism, practiced in the 1930's and 40's.

    > Does the government run and control businesses under fascism and nazism?> No, businesses can do what they want, as long as they provide what the government tells them to produce. They can produce other stuff too if there are enough resources for that.

    > No election and not allowed to protest under fascism?

It depends. Some fascist regimes organise (rigged) elections to pretend having the support of the people/majority. Some fascist regimes will suppress (some) protests with deadly force

Nazi refers to the Nazi party, meaning National Socialist, which is a political party that came to power in the past and set off World War 2. Their regime was fascist, meaning their rule was authoritarian and dictatorial. The Nazis were just one of many fascist regimes in the past. Nazis are fascist, but not all fascists are Nazi. The Nazi political party has since been abolished after Germany's defeat.

Since they are mostly dictatorial, there are no elections under Fascism and most political dissent were brutally extinguished. Since it is an authoritarian rule, the government can order businesses to do their bidding, in a sense controlling them.

I wish that it were so simple that it could be explained in a few words.

Nazism is very specific to the governmental system used by the German Third Reich between the years of 1933 and 1945. Using it to describe anything else is simply inaccurate. Fascism is a top down, dictatorial governmental system that's been used by many world leaders (from far left to far right). So that term is much broader and can be used to describe systems other than one specific case.

Naziism doesn't allow business to dictate government policy as in Fascism.

Under fascism the government controls all business decisions, while businesses remains otherwise private. Government regulations in the US works under the same general idea, but just that under fascism the system is taken to the extreme. In essence, profits are private and everyday operations of the business is done by private citizens, but the business is effectively under the control of the state.

Nazism is a mixed ideology that takes ideas from different systems including fascism, socialism, and capitalism like liberalism does in the US.
