What are the reasons behind China's economic success?

The more they embraced Capitalism, the more success they've achieved.

Stealing the intellectual property of more innovative cultures then using slave labor to manufacture it cheaply. Oh, also the willingness of US and other nations' corporations to sell their souls to the CCP in return for fatter bottom lines. Our collective greed is responsible for the rise of China.

One reason. It's called slave labour.
China is a dictatorship, pure and simple. The Chinese people have never known freedom in their history. First they lived under the boots of local warlords, then they lived under the boots of emperors, now they live under the boots of the People's Communist Party.
Life is fairly simple in China. You do what you're told, or you die in prison. They're not troubled by political divides and debates, because even questioning the government is considered treason. They don't have to worry about which protest is legitimate and which will turn into a riot, because protests are considered treason. They don't even have to worry about which political party to support, because there is only one party and they'll kill you if you don't support them.

They are practicing social-capitalism. 80% or so of their economy is based on private enterprise. But the remainder, which is typically large enterprises like mass transportation, power grid, and healthcare is government owned and operated...socialist. Even the private enterprises are tightly regulated to ensure consumers are not cheated by greedy capitalists.
Bottom line...China has been an economic success because it creates the wealth through capitalism but controls its distribution through socialism.

Propped up by the U.S. That was an easy one.
YOUR tax dollars been going into Chinese government (as well as crooked politicians) pockets sence the early 70 s. That is what they meant when they said "Nixon opened up China".
Thats why Trumps threat of taking them up on the tariff war was so effective. Hurt China a LOT more than us.

1. Theft of intellectual property reduces costs and risks of developing designs and technology for yourself.
2. Price and currency manipulation to undermine other countries' domestic production and manufacturing.
