    Whenever you see a number of a another number, you should multiply them so in this case, 3/4 times 2/5 = 3/10.  And what is 3/10 of a century?  Remember a century is 100 years so that is 3/10 of 100 so that would equal 30 years

    First, find how much is 2/5 from a century. A century is 100 years.

    2/5 x 100 = 40 years

    Now, look for 3/4 from 40 years.

    3/4 x 40 = 30 years.

    understand the sum as

    (2/5)*100=40

    and

    (3/4)*40=30

    mathematically you you simply need to

    (2/5)*(3/4)*100=30

    Fraction "of" a fraction of anything is the product of the fractions:

    3/4 * 2/5

    3/2 * 1/5

    Work out 1/5th of a century, double it. Divide that by 4 then multiply by 3.

    100/5 = 20. 2x20=40. 40/4 =10. 10x3 = 30.

    It is: 3/4 times 2/5 times 100 = 30 years

    century = 100 years

    100(3/4)(2/5) = 100(6/20) = 100(3/10) = 30 years
