does it seem like the news is getting boring again? (no really new developing stories that have not already been endlessly covered?)?

it seems like for the past 5 months there has been just unbelievable news , but now it is finally losing steam and interest? why or not?

Update:

like everyone was waiting for the stock market to crash, etc, but it is not happening

Yeah. Losing 6000 American dead in the last seven days to COVID-19--that's two 9/11 attacks, by the way--is just so meh, you know? Maybe when the death total gets up to a quarter million you'll be interested, ya think?

And Barr going up in front of Congress and justifying fascist tactics, I mean, who really cares, right?

And don't forget Trump's new favorite doctor, who thinks women' problems can be traced back to having sex while asleep with witches and evil spirits, which also isn't a big deal.

So sorry other people's misery and misfortune isn't exciting or interesting enough for you. You could try occupying yourself with something else, like growing up.

Most people have enough to occupy them living their own lives to crave excitement from the news. If you feel that your life is not interesting enough you might consider helping in any number of ways with the efforts to cope with the pandemic and see for yourself first hand what is going on.

People are just sick of that jerkwad Trump so they want to talk about anything calming.

I'm not sure you are aware of this... but the news is not intended to be your entertainment.

It's intended to be the news. And yes, sometimes it's dull, just as life often is.
