If I put money in a traditional IRA would it be any different than putting in saving account if I don't buy any stocks? ?

Other than tax benefits, would there be any growth for example if you don't invest in any ETF or stocks?

Savings account pay nearly nothing these days. IF nothing more you can invest in ETF's , Index's or Bonds and make more.

You could still have some growth.  Some banks offer interest-earning IRA's.  It's not a lot, especially right now, but it's a little more than nothing.
