Subject to SC withholding taxes when selling a home but living out of state?

I am selling my home in south carolina, but I currently live and work in Illinois. Am I considered a non-resident subject to SC withholding tax?

The state is collecting what you may owe in advance.  You will file a non-resident return and get credit for whatever was withheld.

Yes, since you are apparently a resident of IL now.

The sale of a home is governed by the location of the home, not where any party to the transaction lives.

You are the DEFINITION of a non-resident.
