    in the case of destructive interferece of two sound waves, the path diffferece should be equal to half of the wavelength

    2x=λ/2

    Rearrange for wavelength

    λ = 4x

    Here, 2x = 36 - 24 = 12 m implies that x = 6 m

    Therefore wave length

    λ = 4x= 4 ( 6 m ) = 24 m
