What is the oxidizing agent in the following oxidation-reduction equation?

H+ + I– + Cr2O72– → Cr3+ + I2 + H2O

    Cr2O72-.  The Cr is +6 on the left and goes to +3 on the right meaning it is reduced.  That makes it the oxidizing agent since it contributes electrons for the oxidation process.
