why do lawn mowing businesses pay $ 10,000 for a sit down mower that has a 6 ft. wide deck vs. a walk behind for $ 4000 w/ a 4 ft wide deck?

Update:

I mean you can only run over the lawn so fast and still have it look good, but just having a deck on a mower that is .333 percent wider is really worth the price difference?

Update 2:

you can also put a stand up sulky on a walk behind mower to pull you around, but i think the excercise is good for you too? better than sitting down all day?

Update 3:

ISN'T OVER HEAD COSTS A THING TO CONSIDER?

The ride on mower is better value in the long term, you might think the exercise is good for you for a couple of days, you going to do that all day every day in the hot sun you will age very fast.

Because of the differential in opportunity cost between the two types.
