If you do muscle exercises, but without eating for a few days, do u lose muscle or gain muscle?

Muscles are built from protein. So if you are not eating, when the muscle tear from working out there will be no protein to build more muscle. So does the muscle tear, not repair, and then lose some of its muscle mass? 

Update:

I know u can’t build muscle without protein. But would a person lose muscle rapidly by working out with no food?

    No way to gain muscle with no building blocks to make it.

    You have to have food to gain muscle think of it like this food turns in to muscle
