How long does it usually take to find a job these days?

Days? Weeks? Months?

or God forbid...years?

As always it depends on where you are and what you know how to do.

That depends on what you do for a living and how good you are at it, plus how good you are at presenting yourself to a potential employer. Personally sometimes it has taken me weeks to find a new job not counting the two times I was laid off during the summer and took the summer off before really looking for work.
