Can/should a single woman on a minimum wage income in NYC buy a house instead of renting an apartment? .?
And if so, how? Especially without getting loans/debt.

Um, not sure how you think that would even be remotely possible. Buying a house anywhere without loans means you make a cash purchase. If you only work a minimum wage job, unless you have a massive inheritance, lottery winnings, or some other large amount of money sitting around, it isn’t going to happen.

only in trollville, or they get a large inheritance to pay for the house and expenses for 50 years...

Can they? Sure; if they have a huge amount of savings. A low wage is unlikely to mean you can borrow anything like enough to buy anything at all in an expensive city like NYC.
There's no way to buy anything without loans/debt unless you have the cash available to buy without borrowing.
