No, the cloud is something totally different. The cloud is storage where routers and switches are communication devices to send and retrieve information.

    No.

A whole bunch of routers are what make The Cloud a cloud.

    No, they are still needed.

No routers and switches are necessary for any device to be able to access the internet and the "cloud".

No routers and switches are necessary for any device to be able to access the internet and the "cloud".   For example when your smart phone connects to a cell tower it then must use routers and switches owned by the phone company to access the internet and the "cloud".

NO, they are two completely different things. Cloud is where you can store data.  Routers and Switches are two of the things needed to allow data to get to the cloud and the rest of the internet.

Ummm...no. You might want to look up what a router and switch are used for.

That cloud you're thinking of is a bunch of computers that are connected to each other through switches and to the internet through routers.

Not at all.  You use routers to get from where you are to the cloud and you use them to prevent others from seeing what you are doing, if the router includes firewall-like rules for connection filtration.

Of course not. Without them, you wouldn't be able to use the cloud at all.
