Should I goto the ER? Does this qualify as an emergency?

Lately I've been having trouble sleeping due to breathing problems. I keep waking up choking in the middle of the night and I can't lie on my back cause my throat collapses or something so my breathing gets blocked.

It's even gotten worse lately since I have difficulty breathing in the afternoon.

What's weird is I don't have this problem in the morning or when I'm sprinting and exercising.

So does this sound like an emergency or should I go to Urgent care instead?

You should see your regular provider, on a scheduled appointment. Perhaps you need a sleep study.

That's sleep apnea, a kind of sleep disorder. It's not an emergency. But you should have your GP refer you to a sleep specialist.
