1% is \$0.2932

3% is \$0.8796

4% is \$1.1728

so the total is

\$2.3456

then

\$2.3456 x 6 =

\$14.0736

or

\$14.07.

Combined tax rates = (1+3+4)% = 8%. Each basket ball costs \$29.23. 6 basket

balls cost \$6(29.32). Cost of 6 basket balls, tax included, = \$6(1.08)29.32 =

\$189.99.

P = price of 1 basketball = \$29.32

N = number of basketballs = 6

Cit = city tax rate* = 1%

Cty = county tax rate* = 3%

Sta = state tax rate* = 4%

*Use decimal format for calculations.

A = total amount paid = to be determined

A = (N·P) x (1 + Cit + Cty + Sta)

A = (6·\$29.32) x (1 + 0.01 + 0.03 + 0.04)

A = \$189.99

The total amount paid for 6 basketballs at \$29.32 each is \$175.92.

The sales tax for the city is \$1.76

The sales tax for the county is \$5.28

The sales tax for the state is \$8.04

Total Sales tax is \$15.08

• 4 months ago

\$29.32 x 6 = \$175.92

If the taxes are combined then we require 1 + 3 + 4 = 8%

Now, \$175.92 x 0.08 = \$14.07

Total cost is \$175.92 + \$14.07 = \$189.99

If they are individual, depending where you purchase thenwe have:

1% = \$175.92/100 = \$1.76....rounded off

Hence, 3% = 3 x \$1.76 = \$5.28

And 4% = 4 x \$1.76 = \$7.04

so, City --> \$175.92 + \$1.76 = \$177.68

County --> \$175.92 + \$5.28 = \$181.20

State --> \$175.92 + \$7.04 = \$182.96

Total tax rate = 0.01 + 0.03 + 0.04 = 0.08

Total Amount = (1.08)(29.32)(6) = \$189.99

The total tax is 8%.  \$29.32 multiplied by six is 175.92.

0.08 X 175.92 = \$14.07
