If you get officially diagnosed with Celiac Disease, can you forget all about the Gluten Free diet, or are you forced to obey the doctors?

If you dont obey the doctor telling you to eat a Gluten Free diet, will you be put in the psychiatric ward for forced treatment (forced in by a doctor against your will)?

No one will put you in the psychiatric ward for this, since celiac disease is not a mental illness.

You will end up needing to be hospitalized eventually though, because celiac disease can have serious symptoms if you don't follow a gluten free diet. But hey, it's a free country, everyone can die however they want.

If you are mentally competent you have a right to ignore medical advice.

You will feel ill if you don't follow your diet and this will progressively get worse (to the point that an accidental crumb could make you too ill to leave your bed for 48 hours).

It could also lead to early death.

You can follow a gluten free diet and be as healthy as the next person.

You're not forced, you have the right to make your own medical decisions. You will just be sick from now on.
