Does Kareem Abduljabbar have a point that he was best modern day NBA player?

If you look at modern day players, Kareem had best stats in his 20's. He had also won a championship for a franchise that has not been successful.  I think two main reasons why he is never considered best is 1. He was considered to be the 2nd best player in most of the rings that he won with Lakers. 2. He had dramatically declined by 34 or 35.  Jordan and maybe Lebron were the best players at that age.  Kareem was no longer as good as Magic or Bird.

Pete Maravich was the most talented basketball player ever. He averaged 44 points per game in 4 years of college basketball. He just wasn't lucky enough to play on good NBA teams. He played in the NBA when the players didn't have the power to pick which team they played for.

He has a valid argument. He was a great player, but I edtill think Jordan was the best.
