How was Trump's Mt Rushmore speech "racist"?

Did not need to be openly racist.  Claiming everyone is his enemy who does not love him says it all.

That you put "racist" in quotes indicates that you may only recognize extreme racism that is overt and so nothing short of using the "n-word" is racist.  The most racist thing about Trump's speech was in misrepresenting protesters to stroked racial division. He also talked about our preserving "heritage" -- which culturally has been centered around white culture and ignoring/downplaying atrocities committed (such as slavery and discrimination) and dismissing contributions of people of color.  He's narrowed the idea of who Americans are to be only those who agree and support him -- and that's pretty much the furthermost thing from the American ideal that you can get.

Now maybe you're one of those people with a larger amygdala that responds to the fear and anxiety Trump is trying to produce. And so you buy into that nonsense -- but maybe you're also able to step back and recognize that Trump is trying to pull your strings.  You don't have to let him do that to you or to our country.

By the current definition of radical democrats, they would consider it offensive.   One reason is because he refused to blow up Mr. Rushmore, and it is 4 white guys, all who had white privilege.

Trump accused the protesters for racial justice of conducting a “merciless campaign to wipe out our history.”

Is Trump insane?  He fans the flames of division and sides with the defenders of statues glorifying traitors and defenders of slavery.  He referred to protesters as "bad, evil people."

Trump is deliberately ignoring the cause for which people are protesting and demonizing them in a hatemongering, fearmongering effort to rev up his base for his own personal benefit.

Trump is an utter disgrace. Deplorable is too good a word to describe him.
